Knuckles Chaotix - Drawing Competition

Well, this was very thrilling to say the very least...the competition ended in a tie between Felipe Marcantonio and Chris Supernerd! So, because of this, we are applying a second rule, that "Would there be a tie between two pictures, the picture with highest top marks will be the winner." And in this case, Felipe got 12 points from three of the judges, while Chris got from the other two, which makes Felipe the winner. But this is an extremely close race, and it would be a shame for Chris to lose on such basis, so I have made a tiny change (which Felipe has agreed about) that Chris gets the first prize sheet after all, while Felipe gets another sheet (with Vector the Crocodile). Thrid prize goes to Airlight Epsilon, #23.

Bonus sheets are given to: Entry 7: Chaotix Detective Service, by Mat Richens, with the motivation "A simple picture, yet very nice, catching the personality of the Chaotix Agency". The other one is Entry 8: One Mighty Dillo, by Meredith Caudle, with the motivation "A very special picture of Mighty the Armadillo, with a unique style, and a grin well worth to be remembered for a very long time...". My first intention was to only send out one sheet, but I really couldn't pick a favourite between these two, so...they will both get a sheet. :)

Only the top six (plus the winners of the bonus sheets), are announced, with their scores, with respect to those who finished futher down the list. Unfortunately, some of the pictures resulted with no points at all, and that may be a sensitive thing to post on the page, so officially, everybody else who did not finish in top 6, finished 7th. :)Here are all the entries. This page will remain active til the end of March, and the pictures will be moved to the Fan Art section later on.

(I can guarantee the Chaotix print to be an original, as I have bought it directly from Ken Penders myself.)



Sounds interesting? Then, please read the following rules. By submitting your art to the competition, you automatically agree about these rules:

1) Any artist, amateur or professional, from age 3-100 may participate in the competition.

2) Only one picture per participating artist.

3) Pictures must contain at least one (but preferly all) Chaotix member, Vector, Espio, Charmy, and Mighty. Clean art only! Yiff and too violent art may not take part of this competition.

4) Flashes (animations) of the Chaotix are accepted.

5) Deadline of entry will be March 1st, 2006. The winner will be announced on friday, March 10th.

6) All submitted artwork will be posted on knuckleschaotix.net for general viewing, during the voting process. Once the competition is over, the art may be moved to the Fan Art section. If you don't want your art to be posted there, let me know in advance.

7) Would the competition get more than 25 entries, I will chose 25 of the entries for the final voting.

8) Voting: In order to decide the best picture, this competition will have 4 "judges" - myself, Maringa Mikic, Rugalb98 and Tim Fewell. Each of us will award our favourite picture with 12 points, our second favourite 10 points, third favourite 8 points, and then 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point. In other words, the maximum a picture could get, will be 48 points. Would there be a tie between two pictures, the picture with highest top marks will be the winner. Would it still remain as a tie, and we can't agree about which picture to win, the artists will draw another picture each, and we will try to come to a new decision about the winner. As for the winner of the "bonus" original sheet, I alone will decide the winner of it.

9) Prizes will be sent out by regular air-mail. I will do everything I can to secure a safe delivery, but I won't take any responsibility for damages or losses in the mail. Prizes will be sent no matter where in the world you live. :) So don't let your geographic location scare you off.
